Brooklands School

Sunflower Class

There are nine children in Sunflower Class, six boys and three girls, we are based at Brooklands Wray Park site. We follow the Brooklands yellow curriculum which you can read about on the "Yellow curriculum" page.

We have a teacher, two lead teaching assistants, and two full time TA's and four part time TA's who help us to learn. We benefit from the support of the physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists as well as the nursing team.

In sunflower class, we love our physical activities: swimming, softplay, sensory garden, going out in the playground. We also enjoy lots of sensory activities, sensory stories, cooking, music, singing, bubbles, light toys and messy play.

We have a total communication approach in class and communicate in lots of different ways using high tech ACC, symbols, ALDs, signing, on body signs, objects of reference, switches, body language and our voices.

You can look at the curriculum planner on the Yellow Curriculum page to see some of the activities we will be following.

If you would like to contact us then our email address is; sunflowerclass@brooklands.surrey.sch.uk
