Brooklands School

Rio Class

In Rio class we have 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls.

We follow the Brooklands Blue pathway which you can read about on

the "Blue" page.

We have 2 teachers, two LTA's and two TAs to help us to learn.

We start each day with a short burst of exercise, a morning mile run, or a zumba session, followed by a zones of regulation check in. This helps us to be ready to learn. We enjoy learning through our themed curriculum, this term it is called Once upon a time. We start each day with a Read, Write, Inc session to help us learn our sounds for reading and writing. We then complete a range of activities linked to our theme, following our individual timetables to know where we need to go to do our learning. We enjoy sharing our learning with our peers and congratulating each other on our successes.

Our favourite activities in Rio class are singing and music (especially when Kwaku comes to visit), PE and our community time.  In PE we are learning to move our bodies in different ways to music, we are even learning some line dances, please ask us to show you them. Our Friday's are more creative, with PSHE, art and music. We love to share stories together in Rio class and to celebrate our successes, with proud bubbles to end the week.
