Kingfisher Class
There are 9 children in Kingfisher Class. We follow the Brooklands blue curriculum which you can read about on the "Blue curriculum" page.
We have a teacher, an LTA and four TAs to help us to learn.
Our daily routines can be seen in our timetable below. We always start the day by using the 'Zones of Regulation' to check in on our feelings. We refer back to these throughout the day.
We complete a daily work pack, following the TEACCH intervention principles, each morning before going off to our Read Write Inc phonics lesson. Our second session generally has a Maths or Literacy focus, working on our IPP targets. Within these sessions, we incorporate a 1:1 activity with an adult, a computer activity and a workstation type activity, following the TEACHH approach. In the afternoons, we focus on the foundation subjects such as Science, PSHE, Art, DT, PE and Geography/History. We also have time in our soft play, sensory room, trim trail and library.
PE is on a Monday afternoon. We have our blue pathway 'Community Time' sessions on a Friday. During these sessions we integrate with other classes within the Blue pathway. Our whole school assembly is on a Monday and a Friday (Star of The Week) afternoon.
