Robin Class
Welcome to Robin Class
Robin class is led by the teacher Hannah, and supported by Beth (lead teaching assistant) and 5 teaching assisstants.
Robin Class have a mixture of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 aged pupils. We follow the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and adapt it to the individual needs of each child, as well as incorporating the Brooklands Red Pathway Curriculum. Robin Class is based at the Alexander Road site.
At this early developmental stage of the children’s learning, it is important to nurture their play, preferences and choices. We use a range of communication methods such as gesture, body language, verbal communication, symbols, objects of reference and Makaton signing.
Throughout the day we also have circle times linked to Maths Mastery and Read Write Inc as well as An Attention Autism "bucket" session every day. We incorporate lots of sensory exploration, sensory stories and songs within our day in Robin Class.
Within Robin Class we are settling children into a new learning environment. We focus on providing our building blocks to learning, by engagement through communication, regulation and personalisation. Staff nurture and facilitate the child’s desire to learn through play, as well as provide adult led learning opportunities that widen their world.
Our theme for the Autumn Term is 'All about me' and 'All Change'
