Chameleon Class

Chameleon class have eight pupils and is based at the Wray park site. The class are taught by a great team of people including a class teacher, Aimee, a developing teacher, Rafa, lead teaching assistants Hannah and Jade and teaching assistants Osa and Sylvie.

We follow the Brooklands green curriculum pathway which you can read about on the green curriculum page. We follow a holistic and child centred approach to learning - we do not have any “ceilings” or limits on our learning. Our lessons include small step progression, always using the pupil’s individual IPPs and EHCPs for reference on appropriate next steps.

Chameleon class is a very busy and exciting place to be. We are always on the go and enjoy doing lots of activities. Some of our favourite activities include Attention Autism sessions, music & singing and sensory exploration/tactile play.

We use a total communication approach in Chameleon class including the use of AAC devices, ALD boards, Makaton signing, symbols, gesturing, body language and tone of voice. As a class, we are working hard to develop our communication, extend our attention and engagement skills and further develop our turn taking, sharing and social interaction skills.
