Caterpillar Class

There are eleven children in Caterpillar Class, 5 girls and 6 boys. Our class is based at Brooklands Alexander Road site. We have a teacher (Abbie), a lead teaching assistant (Keshika) and four TAs (Ada, Rachel, Rach and Val) who help us to learn.

We follow the Brooklands green curriculum pathway which you can read about on the "Green curriculum" page. If you would like to contact us, our email address is: caterpillarclass@brooklands.surrey.sch.uk

Caterpillar class is a very fun and busy place to be! We are always on the go and enjoy doing lots of activities with our friends. We love being at school and our favourite activities in Caterpillar class are Attention Autism sessions, music & singing and tactile play. We also absolutely love getting out and about in the community and putting skills we've learnt into practice. If you'd like to see what a week in Caterpillar class looks like please see our timetable below.

In Caterpillar class we use lots of different methods of communication including signing, symbols, body language and our voices. As a class, we are working really hard to improve our communication, extend our attention and engagement skills and develop our social interaction skills.

During the Summer term we are learning about...

Topic: Lights, Camera, Action!

Hooks: Theatre and Film, Documentaries/Factual TV, Music and Artists, Concerts and Festivals, TV and Broadcasting/Presenting and Inventions.
